1. Overview
SmarterTariff (“the Platform”), operated by Renew EcoMe LLC, is designed with a privacy-first approach. We set only a small number of strictly-necessary first-party cookies, plus consent-gated analytics and marketing cookies that load only after you opt in. This policy explains our use of cookies and browser storage technologies in compliance with the EU ePrivacy Directive, GDPR, and similar regulations.
2. Cookies & Browser Storage We Use
The Platform uses a combination of localStorage (a browser-based storage mechanism) and a small number of cookiesfor the following purposes. The “Type” column indicates whether each entry is a cookie or a localStorage key:

3. Analytics (Consent-Gated)
When you Accept on the consent banner, we load our cloud hosting & infrastructure provider’s web analytics to collect anonymous usage data (page views, feature interactions, aggregate Core Web Vitals). This analytics does not use cookies and does not track personal identity. No analytics are loaded if you Decline or have not yet responded.
We also load our analytics & advertising provider’s conversion trackingafter consent acceptance to measure advertising effectiveness. No personal data is shared for ad personalization or retargeting.
Unless you opt in via the consent banner, the Platform does not set analytics or marketing cookies. Regardless of consent, we do not use:
- Tracking pixels or web beacons
- Retargeting or remarketing tools
- Browser fingerprinting techniques
- Cross-site tracking for advertising profiles
4. Third-Party Services
The Platform loads resources from third-party services that may use their own storage or networking:
- Our cloud hosting & infrastructure provider’s web analytics — Anonymous, cookieless usage analytics, loaded only after consent acceptance.
- Our analytics & advertising provider — Conversion tracking to measure advertising effectiveness. Loaded only after consent acceptance. No personal data is shared for ad personalization.
- Our mapping & geocoding provider — Map tiles and geocoding for the Supply Chain Scanner. The provider may collect anonymized usage data per their privacy policy.
- Our payment processor — Subscription billing. Our payment processor sets its own cookies for fraud prevention on payment pages.
- Our alternative payment processor — Alternative payment processing. The provider may set cookies for fraud prevention on payment pages.
- Self-hosted web fonts (via Next.js) — Bundled font family. Loaded at build time; no runtime tracking.
We have no control over cookies or storage mechanisms used by these third-party services. See our Privacy Policy for full details on sub-processors.
5. Managing Your Preferences
You can manage your storage preferences at any time by:
- Clearing your browser’s localStorage (this will reset your consent preference, and the banner will reappear)
- Using your browser’s built-in privacy settings to control storage
6. Changes to This Policy
If we introduce any new storage mechanisms or tracking technologies, we will update this policy and present a new consent request.
